Meet Our Doctors
Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Randy Wirth attended the University of Michigan where he received his B.S. in Biology. Upon graduation, he began studying Veterinarian Medicine at Cornell Academy. He received his doctorate in 1989 and began to practice medicine in the state of Connecticut. He relocated to Rhode Island and became a fellow member of the NAH team in 1991. His occupational interests include Canine Reproduction and Internal Medicine. Dr. Wirth and his family unit share their lives with a sweet fiddling canine fluff-brawl named Dewey and a kokosnoot retriever named Drupe!
Originally from the Boston Surface area, Dr. Lisa Walker attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she received a bachelor'south caste in Environmental Conservation. Post-obit graduation, she began studying Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio Land Academy. She received her doctorate in 2000, and relocated to Rhode Isle. Her occupational interests include Soft Tissue Surgery and Internal Medicine. She currently resides in Newport with her husband, two children, and their sweet pup Maggie.
Dr.Wood attended The University of Rhode Island's Wildlife Biology and Management program. He so moved to Montana and attended Montana Country University, where he completed the Pre-Veterinary curriculum. He so attended Colorado State Academy, where he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. He spent the next year practicing general veterinary medicine in Connecticut, and then relocated to Montana, where he spent v years working, not only every bit a general practitioner, but equally an emergency veterinary also. In 2010, Dr. Woods decided it was time to return to his native state, Rhode Isle! He joined the Newport Creature Hospital Squad in January of 2011, and nosotros couldn't exist happier! Dr. Forest's special interests include oncology and chemotherapy, general and soft tissue surgery, and pain management.
Originally from the Boston Area, Dr Nhianh (Annie) Pasierb attended Boston Academy, where she received her bachelor'due south degree in both Biology and Mathematics in 2000. After graduation, she attended Tufts University School of Veterinarian Medicine and received her Doctorate in 2006. She continued her education with a rotating internship at Angell Fauna Medical Eye in Boston. She spent the following three years on agile duty equally a Captain in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. After another year in a specialty surgical internship at Sonora Veterinary Specialist in Phoenix, AZ, she decided to move back to the New England area and joined the Newport Creature Infirmary Squad in December 2012. Her occupational interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and pain management. She currently resides in Jamestown with her hubby, Mark, and their iii Himalayan cats, Norma Jean, Janie and Kabuki.
Dr. Kim Phan is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended the Academy of California, San Diego where she graduated with a degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biological science. She decided to relocate to the northeast and attended Cornell University for her DVM. Charmed by the cute New England coast, she decided to move to RI and joined the Newport Animal Hospital team in June of 2013. Dr. Phan'due south occupational interests include Dentistry and Surgery. She currently resides in Middletown with her Bull Terrier, Rufus and pet rat, Ham.
Originally from Harvard, Massachusetts, Dr. Fain received her undergraduate degree from Tufts Academy. She received a Main'southward degree in Wildlife Biology and Management from Colorado State Academy in 1995. From in that location, she entered Colorado State's Veterinary programme where she received her DVM in 1999. Dr.Fain has always considered it a privilege to be able to serve others through helping their pets. Her current veterinary interests include emergency medicine, reproduction, infectious disease and soft tissue surgery. She looks forward to edifice relationships with her clients and their pets each twenty-four hour period.
Dr. Courtney Perry is a recent graduate from Tufts Cummings Schoolhouse of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinarian Animal Medicine, besides as a Bachelors in Biological Sciences. While working towards her undergraduate degrees, she started working at Newport Animate being Hospital as a kennel attendant, and then a veterinarian technician. Dr. Perryhas always had a love of animals, and currently lives with her fiancé David, their cat Daphne and two ferrets Roscoe and Daisy. Dr. Perry has an interest in small animal internal medicine, exotic companion animal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Even though we did non have a happy catastrophe I wanted to thank Dr. Wood whole heartily. I never met such a compassionate and sincere Dr. Going in we have had no prior human relationship with Dr. Wood but he made united states of america feel similar we knew him from day ane. Putting our 13year old friend downwardly was the toughest thing we have had to practise as a family and Dr. Wood was right at that place for us giving hugs and talking united states of america through information technology stride past step. Cheers for getting me all shaved and cleaned upwards after my long romp around Newport! Information technology was a heck of a vacation! I am finally home, clean and comfortable in my ain (very short) fur. Sorry I am such a grouch when I am there!
I want to thank the entire staff at NAH for an admittedly amazing veterinarian experience with our dogs CJ & Bentley! We hate to have to leave the area, and we wish that you could all come up with u.s.! Keep up the Bang-up work!
